METHOD & NOTES

How recipe scaler works

Scale ingredient amounts for a new serving count.

Formula and convention

Scale factor = target / original servings. Multiply each ingredient amount by the factor.

A worked example

Four to six servings gives factor 1.5. Amounts 200, 100, and 2 become 300, 150, and 3.

Scope and precision

Keep each ingredient in its original unit. Cooking time, seasoning, vessel sizes, and eggs may need practical adjustment.

Displayed results may be rounded. Inputs are processed locally and are not stored by this site. Keep the original values if you need to reproduce the result.

Why might another tool give a different result?

Compare unit definitions, rounding, period assumptions, and input values. This page states the convention used by this calculator.
